Bibliophone Matchmaker Terms of Use

The BIBLIOPHONE matchmaker terms of use.

We have a few simple terms for the Bibliophone matchmaker service. We use these terms to ensure the service is a benefit to its users. For the purposes of these terms, ‘users’ refers to narrators and authors. These terms apply in addition to the Bibliophone general terms which can be found here.

Please note that the matchmaker service is not intended as a place to solicit business. We offer this as a way to bring authors and narrators together so that both parties are able to combine their talents and as such, expand their market platforms by hosting work here at Bibliophone.

Narrators:

Of course we encourage authors and narrators to develop relationships – if a narrator should receive paid work with an author they have recorded for via this service, that is perfectly acceptable to us, but it cannot be a condition of free narration. For an example, a narrator cannot offer to record a story free of charge on the condition that a subsequent story is narrated at a cost. If an author reports that a narrator has been attempting to solicit paid work, that narrator will be excluded from the matchmaker service.

Narrators and authors:

This service takes time and input from our team so cannot be used as an advertising board. What does that mean? Bibliophone doesn’t allow stories to be selected from the matchmaker boards and then published for sale as audio stories elsewhere. Bibliophone reserves the right to pursue an agency fee should any work originating from its matchmaker service be published on another platform as an audio story and offered for sale. Please don’t think we’re being harsh. We are offering a free service which we hope will benefit authors and narrators alike by generating publicity for both parties. We don’t even mind if an author and narrator end up forming a professional relationship whereby future audio stories are sold on other platforms. We just ask that you start off with a free narration here at the Bibliophone matchmaker service and use it as it’s intended: to spread the word about your written and spoken talents. We actually want you to earn a living from your skills!

Personal details:

At Bibliophone we take your privacy seriously and do not share personal information. However, as an author, we will forward the email address you submit in the matchmaker story upload contact form to any interested narrators so that they can contact you to discuss your work. If you feel you have been contacted in error or that you are approached in any way that you feel constitutes abuse, please contact us.

Please note that once you are in possession of any contact details, these must be treated as confidential and not shared without the owners permission.

Bibliophone reserves the right to make changes to any of its terms so please check them regularly.

If you have any questions relating to these terms please contact us.
