The room is quiet

Except for the humming of the sockets

And the din from the TV two apartments down

A car passes

The tires roll heavy

Slowly into the night

And the lights on the blinds..

about the author

Mary Alexandra Stiefvater began writing poetry and studying photography from a young age. A native Californian, she was born in Chico and grew up in Stockton, later attending the prestigious School of Theater, Film and Television at the University of California Los Angeles. During her time at UCLA, Mary Alexandra spent a year abroad studying French cinema and philosophy at L'Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris III and Le Centre Parisien d’Études Critiques. Upon graduation, she relocated to England to do her post-graduate studies at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before moving to New York. Mary Alexandra resides in Los Angeles and in addition to being a poet and photographer, she is also an actor, model, award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker.
