Written by Palestinian writer Jana Rami Samih Safi, 'To The World' is narrated by Karishma Patel and is the first part of two very special poems. It represents the voice of Gaza, from the heart of its inhabitants, and is a message to the world beyond.

about the author

Born in 2010, Jana Rami Samih Safi is a 15 year old writer from Al-Qarara, near Khan Yunis. Jana writes for her country and for love. She carries its pain, and the pain of displacement, wherever she goes.

about the narrator

Karishma Patel is a former BBC journalist and newsreader who left the organisation over its Gaza coverage. She has since become a media critic and Green Party candidate. She holds an MPhil in English Literature from the University of Cambridge, and is academically published in ‘Cultures of London: Legacies of Migration’ (Bloomsbury, 2024).
